At Elm Tree, we believe it is extremely important to provide a healthy, well balanced
and nutritious menu for all of our children each day. We also ensure we work closely
with our families to ensure that all of their children’s individual dietary, cultural,
religious and food preferences are met and catered for at all times.
Our highly experienced and qualified chef, Miss Michelle, prepares delicious morning
teas, lunches and afternoon teas onsite each day, using quality fresh and locally
sourced ingredients. Our centre menus are written in a four week cycle, and rotated
seasonally throughout the year, and are always on display for our families in our
reception area, outside the kitchen and online. We openly welcome input, ideas,
suggestions and recipes from our families also, as the children love to share their
favourite food with their friends.
We base our menus on the most up to date information from sources such as Feed
Australia, the Australian Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents, the
Australian Infant Feeding Guidelines and Nutrition Australia. At all times, we
implement the highest standards of food safety and hygiene practices throughout the
centre, and all staff undertake regular professional development to ensure that they
meet these requirements in their daily practices.
