Nursery and Toddlers
I am Miss Sarah, and I’m the Lead Educator of the Nursery. I am a qualified Early Childhood Teacher with over 14 years of experience. I have only just recently relocated from New Zealand to the golden shores of the Gold Coast with my Husband and two children, Asha (7) and Eva (3). I have always had a passion for providing infants, toddlers and children with memorable Early Childhood Education and working alongside Parents in partnership to give high quality early childhood education and care.
Relationships built on trust and respect is of upmost importance to me and I will endeavour to provide families with understanding, empathy and care at all times. Every child brings with them their ‘funds of knowledge’ alongside their culture, and I will empower all children in my care to have a sense of identity and self. I have sound knowledge around the RIE Philosophy which incorporates teaching and care built on respectful, peaceful, unhurried care moments, close observations and trust in a child to be an initiator, an explorer and a self-learner. The environment for the child is physically safe and cognitively challenging. I have a strong sense of advocacy for children’s emotions being nurtured and supported by providing heartfelt teaching with love and care.
Kia Ora! I am Miss Kayla, the assistant in the Nursery room, but will be the Lead Educator in the Toddlers Room once we separate. I have worked in this profession for 5 years, successfully completing my Diploma in Early Childhood Education in May 2018. I reside here in Australia with my partner and son, but was born and raised in New Zealand. I have been lucky enough to learn my native language, and getting to know my cultural background through discussions, participating in new and challenging experiences and exploring my surroundings with trusted whanau.
These experiences have opened my eyes to what the world has to offer and how I contribute to this world. I believe building trusting relationships with children and families, and by encouraging children to acknowledge their family backgrounds and values, is the foundation to their learning and that they will also begin to see how they contribute to their world. Working with children has always been a passion of mine, to create a sense of belonging in each individual child and encourage their unique abilities to shine, provide stimulating experiences, guide them through challenges and ensure their individual needs are met while providing the best quality care.

I absolutely love working with young children, and am constantly amazed by the excitement they have to learn more about the world around them. I am a big believer in encouraging children to express themselves openly, and that we should celebrate all of their individual ideas and I look forward to meeting and working alongside you all.

I have a Diploma of Children’s Services, an Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services and have worked as a Lead Educator, and a Supervisor for over 4 years. Hello, Ni Hao! My name is Miss Alice. I grew up on a little island called Singapore. As it is very multicultural, with many people from different races and religions, this is where I learnt my 5 languages. I can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Hokkien and Teochew. I came to Australia since 2008, where I am loving the down under life style compared to a very fast pace moving country. Here we have a much better balance of quality life with work and family. As much as I am enjoying the life here, I came to realise while parents are out working they missed the time spent with their children. I love children so much and I believe they deserve lots of love and care, not only from their parents – but also from their early learning teachers. I have been working with children for 3 and a half years now, and I am have the same passion as I did from day one. I just want them to grow with confidence and be proud of who they are. I believe each child is unique and special, and I believe being an early childhood teacher plays an important role in their life.
